Filattiera
and Caprio |
|

Filattiera
territory stretches over hills and mountains; its characteristic
buildings are the so called "case-torri" (house-towers),
fortified houses built in the Middle Ages to serve also as sighting
towers. Long hikes near Lusignana and Logarghena lead through
thick woods of Turkey oaks and beech trees.

Caprio
Caprio is a very peculiar village; its architecture somehow reminds
of Pontremoli and is characterised by a number of medieval case-torri,
also frequent in Filattiera and Ponticello. In this latter, some
case-torri are available for rent during the summer; they are
an ideal base for hikes on the surrounding hills and through Ponticello's
green fields.
