Zeri is not a single town but a bunch of little villages scattered over the hills, in the north west part of Val di Magra. Three streams (Gordana, Teglia and Adelano) carved into a plateau in the middle of the mountains; as a consequence, Zeri's little villages look over different valleys and have different views.

Patigno and Noce are in a typical mountain area, while Pratolo, Bosco and Valle are in the plain, surrounded by thick chestnut groves. Overall, the whole area leaves on cattle raising and is characterised by hills, old shepherds' shacks, mills and wide pastureland.
