Mulazzo is located in the high part of the Val di Magra, on a hill over the Mangiona stream. The area is mainly hilly, covered with green relaxing grooves. The territory is crossed by a hike called Lunigiana, like the surrounding region.

The Lunigiana hike starts from Tresana and stops in Zerasco, going through Montereggio and other small villages. Mulazzo's territory is widely cultivated, and produces some excellent wine. The passion for wine is revived each year at a fair called BancarelVino: a prize is assigned to the best producer of the area and samples of wine are offered to the visitors.
